Lillie McClelland Briggs

Mrs. Lillie McClelland Briggs was born on June 8th, 1901 in Grand Chain, Illinois.  She was the fifth child of nine children born to Witt and Lena H. McClelland.  She received her early religious training at the Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Grand Chain, Illinois

During the mid 1920's she united with the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Mr. William Anderson and Mr. Harry Briggs.

Mrs. Briggs departed this life on Saturday August 7, 1982 at the Notre Dame Nursing Home in Belleville, Illinois.

She leaves to mourn her passing, one sister, Pearlie Barefield of Madison, Illinois; two brothers, John McClelland of Madison, Illinois; and Melvin McClelland of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Allee McClelland of St. Louis, Missouri; thirteen nieces, seven nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
