ARKANSAS MYSTERIES

Deb Davis

I would appreciate any information on my great-great grandmother Rosetta DEMPSEY.  She was born in Arkansas probably in the 1840's or 1850's.  She married Peter ANDERSON born 1844 in Greenville , Mississippi .  They resided in Bolivar County , Mississippi .  I have reason to believe she may have died in Union County , Illinois but possibly Arkansas or  Mississippi .  Children of Peter and Rosetta were Fred, Preston , Rosetta, Sandy , Mariah and Silas.  There was another daughter named Peter that I am especially interested in.  I have been told she married.  It is not know what happened to her after that.

I would love to hear from anyone with information. You can find more on my families as well as links to other Anderson researchers at http://www.debdavis.org/.

I am trying to find descendants of gr-aunt James Anderson-Williams (or could be Jane).  I believe her mother was Rose Dempsey Anderson, father was Peter Anderson.  Aunt James Jane) remained in the South when the rest of her family moved to Southern Illinois , Pulaski County .  An affidavit dated July, 1962 gives her name and last known residence as Dumas, Arkansas .  Her known siblings: Isiah, Fred (my gr-grandfather), Rosetta, Preston , Sandy , Mariah and Silas.

I would love to hear from anyone with information. I am especially interested in contact with her descendants. Please email me if you have information on this family.

I am looking for information on Ed or Ned GREENBERRY i.e. GREENSBERRY, GREENBURY, GREENSBURY.  He was born in Arkansas around 1850.  His parents were Louis and MARIA (possibly Mariah) GREENSBERRY who lived in Grand Chain, Pulaski County , Illinois sometime around 1880.  I would like more information on this family.

I would love to hear from anyone with information. You can find more on my families as well as links to other researchers at http://www.debdavis.org/.

I am trying to find descendants of gr-aunt James ANDERSON-WILLIAMS, born about 1884 in Mississippi, probably Bolivar county. I believe her mother was Rose Dempsey ANDERSON, father was Peter ANDERSON. Aunt James remained in the South when the rest of her family moved to Southern IL, Pulaski Co. An affidavit dated July, 1962 gives her name and last known residence as Dumas AR. Her known siblings: Isiah, Fred (my gr-grandfather), Rosetta, Preston, Sandy, Mariah and Silas. She was listed in the 1920 Desha County census with her husband James and daughter Mary A. WILLIAMS.
I would love to hear from anyone with information. I am especially interested in contact with her descendants.  Please email me if you have information on this family.

I am researching my Reynolds family line and have traced it back to a John Reynolds and his son Hamilton migrating from North Carolina to Arkansassometime before 1835. I have a birth date for Hamilton of 1812 from a marriage record. I have no birth date for John or names of parents or wife.

I have discovered that there was a John Reynolds born in North Carolina,  (possibly Personco) in 1785 to Hamilton (or Hambleton) Reynolds and Sarah Lea. He married Catherine (or Kathy) Magness in 1810 in Rutherford, which would be about right for him to be the father of Hamilton Reynolds born in 1812. Also the repeat of the name Hamilton seems to be more than a  coincidence. Do you know if this John Reynolds and Catherine Magness had  a son Hamilton and if they eventually migrated to Arkansas. I will greatly appreciate any help in proving or disproving this connection.
