I am interested in corresponding with anyone who has information on the ALEXANDER family from Pulaski County, Illinois. Thomas Alexander married Ella McClelland on January 18, 1893 in Pulaski County, Illinois.  Ella was the daughter of Richard MCCLELLAN(D) and Sarah (Sallie) RUTLEDGE MCCLELLAN(D).  Her first husband was Hanibal Clark Richard was born in Tennessee in 1839 and Sallie was born September 1842 in Tennessee.  The family was found in the 1900 census with a son George Alexander, born July, 1890.  I have been unable to find them in any other census records .I would really like to know what happened to son, George.  Did he have a family and if there are any living descendents.  Please contact me if you have any info regarding this family.

My line is from Pulaski County, Illinois. We are African American. My gg-grandfather was Mulatto. I have been unable to trace the line before him.

I am interested in corresponding with anyone who has information on the McCLELLAN(D) family from Tennessee. Information from a great-aunt indicates the family resided in Paris, Henry County Tennessee. My gg-grandfather was Richard MCCLELLAN(D), he married Sarah (Sallie) RUTLEDGE. Richard was born in Tennessee in 1839, but indicated both of his parents born in North Carolina. Although Richard and his family were listed as Mulatto on most censuses, a picture of him reveals that he looked Caucasian (White).

Their children were Luther (Nov, 1859) married Marriah Mercy Dotson, Ella (1862) married Hanibla Clark and Thomas Alexander, Fanny (1864) married Noah Vince Howard (lived in Cairo, IL, James Witt (born Dec, 20, 1867) married Lena Hodge, Ellen Boyed and Millie (lived in Grand Chain, IL), Josie (1869) married to James Allensworth (lived in Cairo, IL), Nanny (1871) married to Coleman Woolfolk (lived in Grand Chain, IL), Flora (1874) married Willam Booth, Mary (1876), Minnie (1878) married George Stevens (lived in Cairo, IL), Warn (Aug, 1879) told she was like a gypsy; once known to have lived in New Mexico, John (May, 1881), Lula (1884) married to Dee Sharp and Abraham Bostick (lived in E. St. Louis, IL and St. Louis, MO), Alice (Nov, 1887) married Mark Clay (lived in Grand Chain, IL),  Clatie (Jan, 1889) and Mark. The family was found in the Pulaski County Illinois censuses from 1870 through 1920.

One grandson Archie McClelland lived in East St. Louis for quite some time. I have been trying to find his descendents. Archie McClelland born March 1883 in Pulaski County Illinois. His parents were Marriah Mercy Dotson and Luther McClelland. Archie married Sarah Moore September 28,1902 in Pulaski County. Know children were America born about 1904, Aretha born 1906, and Charles born 1909. Archie moved to East St. Louis, Illinois and was a member of Washington Tabernacle in St. Louis, MO.

I am hoping to find any of his descendents. You can find more on my families as well as links to other McClelland researchers at http://www.debdavis.org/.  I would love to hear from anyone with any information on this family.

I am interested in corresponding with anyone who has information on the McCLELLAND family from North Carolina. My gg-grandfather, Richard McCLELLAND was found in the 1880 Pulaski County Illinois census born 1839 in Tennessee, but his father was listed as born in North Carolina.. He was listed as mulatto, so I suspect one parent was Irish based upon information from his daughter Lula. I have been unable to find out who Richard’s father or mother were. I would love to hear from anyone with information. You can find more on my families as well as links to other McClelland researchers at  http://www.debdavis.org/

I am interested in corresponding with anyone who has information on the McCLELLAND/RUTLEDGE family from North Carolina. My gg-grandmother, Sarah E. McCLELLAND (married name) was found in the 1880 Pulaski County Illinois census born 1847 in Kentucky. Her husband was Richard McClelland born 1839 in Tennessee. She was listed as mulatto, so I suspect one parent was Caucasian. I have been unable to find out who Sarah/Sallies’ father or mother were. I would love to hear from anyone with information. You can find more on my families as well as links to other McClelland researchers at  http://www.debdavis.org/.

I would like information on the marriage of John McClelland. This marriage occurred in Cook County, Illinois. The best estimate of a timeframe is the 1950's. I I have reason to believe his wife's given name was Nancy.

John was born June 12, 1909 in Grand Chain, Illinois. He was the son of James Witt McClelland and Lena Hodge. John moved to Chicago after being released from Armed Service after World War II.  It is also believed that he had a daughter, although this daughter may or may not be the child of the wife I would like to find her and/or her descendents.

I would love to make contact with either individual or their descendents. I would love to hear from anyone with information. You can find more on my families as well as links to other McClelland researchers at  http://www.debdavis.org/.   If anyone has any information, please e-mail me.

Searching for Aunt in Chicago area.

I would like to find my Aunt and her descendents. If anyone has information about the daughter of John McClelland, please contact me. My mother and I would very much like to meet her. She should probably have been born sometime after World War II in Cook County, Illinois. My grandfather, John McClelland is the only one of her parents I know anything about. He was born in Grand Chain, Illinois on June 12, 1909 to Lena Hodge and Witt McClelland. After his discharge from World War II, he resided in Chicago, Illinois. The daughter I am looking for would have been born sometime after this.

If anyone has any information, please e-mail me.

I am researching Warn McClelland born Aug 1880 in Pulaski County, Illinois. She was the child of Richard McClelland and Sarah Rutledge McClelland. It is believed Warn may have died in Ohio and is known to have spent time in New Mexico.  If anyone has any information, please e-mail me
